Program Structure

01
Module 1: AutoCAD Foundations
Weeks 1–2
  • AutoCAD interface: ribbons, command line, toolbars, and workspace
  • Drawing basic geometry: lines, arcs, circles, rectangles, polygons
  • Coordinate systems: absolute, relative, and polar coordinates
  • Precision tools: snap, grid, ortho mode, and object tracking
02
Module 2: 2D Technical Drawing
Weeks 3–5
  • Working with layers: colour, linetype, lineweight, and organisation
  • Dimensioning: linear, angular, radial, and ordinate dimensions
  • Annotation: text styles, leaders, tolerances, and title blocks
  • Hatching, fills, and section views for professional drawings
03
Module 3: Advanced 2D & Drawing Output
Weeks 6–7
  • Creating and using blocks and external references (XREFs)
  • Page layout setup, viewports, and plot styles
  • Printing to scale: A1, A2, A3 formats with proper line weights
  • Real project: complete floor plan or mechanical drawing from scratch
04
Module 4: Introduction to 3D Modelling
Weeks 8–10
  • Switching to the 3D workspace and navigating in 3D
  • Extruding 2D shapes into solid 3D objects
  • 3D primitives: box, cylinder, sphere, cone, wedge
  • Boolean operations: union, subtract, and intersect for complex shapes
05
Module 5: Advanced 3D & AI Integration
Weeks 11–12
  • Applying materials, textures, and lighting to 3D models
  • Rendering a photorealistic presentation image
  • AI-assisted drafting tools: automating repetitive tasks and error-checking

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior design or engineering experience?
No prior experience is needed at all. We start from the very beginning — how to open AutoCAD, draw a straight line, and navigate the workspace. Students from all backgrounds, including those with no technical drawing background, complete this course successfully.
Which version of AutoCAD do you teach?
We teach the current professional release of AutoCAD. The core commands and workflow are consistent across all recent versions, so your skills remain relevant regardless of which version your employer uses.
Is this course useful for interior design?
Very much so. Interior designers rely on AutoCAD daily for space planning, furniture layout, and construction documentation. This course is directly applicable and many of our interior design students use their skills professionally within weeks of graduating.
Is 3D modelling included or is it a separate course?
Both 2D and 3D are fully included in this single course. You will cover complete 2D technical drawing proficiency before progressing to 3D modelling and rendering. No separate enrolment or additional fee is required.
What does the AI integration part cover?
The AI integration module covers tools that automate repetitive drafting tasks, assist with error detection, generate design suggestions, and speed up rendering. These are real tools being adopted by engineering and architecture firms today — giving you a genuine edge in the job market.
What certificate do I receive?
You receive an official ICSA Certificate in AutoCAD 2D and 3D upon successful completion. A minimum 75% attendance and submission of the final project drawing are required.
