About This Course

Spoken English at ICSA

Most people in Kuwait who struggle with English do not struggle with grammar. They studied it for years. What stops them is the moment someone actually asks a question — the pause, the mental translation, the sentence that comes out half-built.

This course fixes that, and it fixes it the only way it can be fixed: by making you speak. Classes are built around conversation, roleplay and correction in the moment. You practise the situations you actually face — a job interview, a phone call, a meeting, explaining a problem to a customer, small talk that does not stall.

Over one to three months you build a working vocabulary you can reach for under pressure, fix the pronunciation habits that make people ask you to repeat yourself, and lose the hesitation that makes you sound less capable than you are.

I can read and write English but I cannot speak it. Is this the right course?

Yes — that is exactly who this course is for, and it is the most common situation we see. You already have the grammar and the vocabulary; what you are missing is the practice of producing speech under real-time pressure. Every class is built around speaking, so that is the gap we close.

What level do I need to start?

Any level. We assess your speaking in the first session and place you at the right stage — Foundations if you are starting from very little, or straight into Everyday Fluency or Workplace English if you already have a base. You are never put in a group where you cannot keep up or are not challenged.

How long before I can hold a conversation?

Most students who attend consistently notice a real difference within four to six weeks. Full workplace confidence typically takes two to three months. The honest variable is how much you speak outside class — students who practise between lessons move roughly twice as fast.

Do you teach British or American English?

We focus on clear, neutral, internationally understood English — which is what actually serves you in Kuwait, where you will speak with people from many countries. We do cover the main differences in vocabulary and pronunciation so that neither accent throws you.

Are classes one-to-one or in groups?

Groups, deliberately kept small. Speaking is a skill you build with other people, and a small group gives you real practice at conversation, disagreement and interruption — things you cannot rehearse alone. One-to-one sessions can be arranged if you specifically need them.

Is this the same as an IELTS course?

No. IELTS preparation trains you to pass a specific exam. Spoken English trains you to communicate in real life — at work, in interviews and in daily conversation. Many students take Spoken English first to build a base, then move to IELTS or PTE when they need a certificate.
